Camellia Glen’s open to the public days – just a few more for this season – walk the garden – camellia plant sales

Camellias are in full flower at the moment – particularly japonicas, hybrids and reticulatas. Some say they have flowered early, some that theirs are the best flowers ever. We put it down to great spring and summer rain – but whatever the reason, Camellias are having a great year.
Here are a few that are flowering in our garden now.

Camellia Glen has another 4 planned Fridays and Saturdays where we will be open to the public – 8.00 to 3.00.
7 and 8 August, 14 and 15 August, 21 and 22 August, 28 and 29 August 2020 – Covid-19 rules considered.
We have a great range of great camellias in 140mm pots still available this season.
Come and visit, wander our garden, buy some camellias for yours.

Open – Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 July

Just a reminder that we will be open again this weekend – 8.00 am to 3.00 pm.

We still are surprised when people say that camellias are hard to find – we have about 200 varieties and still a few thousand plants – drop in, walk the garden, buy some for your place. There are many in full flower – in fact some of the late flowerers have been really late this year with varieties like Royal Velvet and Midnight Magic just starting. Of course, the reticulatas are starting now as well and are full of flower. As are the magnolias with Felix and Brozzonni and Vulcan and Picture and Butterflies – well – you just have to come and see them.

We still have many varieties available for sale – about 175 – but we are out of some – still a few thousand plants available. We are happy for folk to visit and just wander the garden – it’s not a display garden, but you can see a couple of hundred named camellias in flower as well as a number of vireya rhododendrons. The magnolias have a few flowers and will start in ernest in the coming few weeks.

Look forward to seeing some of you.
